Talented Dutch rider Tom Schellekens is joining the KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team starting at January 1, 2025.

Tom was riding this year’s competition both disciplines, road and mountainbike, as a proud member of the Visma|Lease a Bike Development Team. Learning, experiencing, growing and developing by riding both disciplines, Tom decided to focus on mountainbike for the coming years.
His main goal in mountainbike is competing at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028.
Bart Brentjens, Team Director of ‘KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team’: “We are happy Tom will join our Team for the next years. Working towards participation in the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 as his highest goal, is exactly the ambition that we look for in our riders.

With our Team, we will start Mission Part 5 in January 2025. Mission Part 5, is a fouryear
cycle that works towards the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, 2028.

The next Olympic Summer Games in 2028, will bring back mountain biking to its roots where it all started, in California USA. LA2028 will be the first Olympic Games back in the USA, after the Centennial Games of Atlanta 1996, where mountain biking became an Olympic discipline. We look forward to working with Tom together on shared goals and vision. I am confident that Tom can become an Olympic athlete and develop into one of the best mountain bikers worldwide.” Tom Schellekens, international Dutch U23 mountainbiker: “I am very happy and proud to be part of the KMC Ridley Mountainbike Racing Team.
