The Rock Ultra Race Village, hosted at Ridgeback Wines in Windmeul, will serve as the pulsating heart of the event.
This event promises an unforgettable experience for both seasoned trail runners and beginners, offering three challenging distances: The Rock Ultra (100km), The Rock Marathon (44km) and The Boulder Half-marathon of 22km.

THE BOULDER HALF-MARATHON
Route description: From the Ridgeback Race Village and a short dash along the farm’s jeep tracks we head onto Paarl Adventure Trails’ world-class single tracks and up to Flatrock Aid station for 5-star service and panoramic views of the Paarl valley. After a steep climb up to Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve it back onto the single tracks and the Boulder City segment where this race gets its name to the Owloon Views Aid station for a refreshment before the fast finish along the flowing trails back to the Ridgeback Race Village where celebration awaits.

THE ROCK MARATHON 44KM
Route description: The Rock Ultra 100km route is a magnificent trail and gravel route from Ridgeback Race Village to Paarl Rock before traversing some of Paarl Mountain’s most spectacular segments to 5-star Aidstations and spectator support points where nourishment and support will be waiting to prepare ultra-runners for the big climb to Groot Waboomkop and back to the Ridgeback Race village where supporters and celebration awaits!

Route description: The Rock Ultra is a magnificent trail and gravel route from Ridgeback Race Village to the Flatrock Aidstation, then Meulwater Aidstation and spectator support point before climbing up to Paarl Rock along the same route as the Rock Marathon. From Paarl Rock, Ultra runners will summit Bretagne Rock for a checkpoint before visiting the Paarl Adventure trails of Specialized and Spice Route destination, where another 5-star aid station and spectator support will be to prepare ultra-runners for the big climb to Groot Waboomkop and back to the Ridgeback Race village where supporters and celebration awaits!

Ridgeback Race Village
Here, participants and spectators can look forward to a vibrant entertainment area, and browse through a selection of premium race gear and apparel curated by SPORTSA. The bustling atmosphere will add an extra dimension to your race experience, creating a sense of community and excitement that will elevate your journey through the trails of Paarl Mountain.
Race Village facilities include safe parking, a catering and entertainment area, a retail gear and apparel zone, toilets and hot showers.

For this inaugural edition, our meticulously planned routes will guide you through the flowing Paarl Adventure trails and the breathtaking tracks of Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve. As you traverse these trails, expect to be captivated by panoramic viewpoints that offer stunning vistas, providing you with moments of awe and inspiration. Our strategically located aid stations, boasting 5-star service, will ensure that you stay nourished, hydrated, and motivated throughout your race, enabling you to focus on the thrill of the trails beneath your feet.

Race Registration and Preliminary Schedule
Race registration will be possible at SPORTSA outlets in Paarl and Canal Walk. We will also be hooking up with local communities in Race Week to make registrations and collections as smooth as possible.
