HOW TO ENTER AND REGISTER

INSTANT IN-STORE

  • Check out which SPAR near you is open for entries on https://sparwomenstshwane.co.za.
  • Visit your nearest participating SPAR store, pay for your entry in-store and instantly receive your SPAR Women’s Challenge Tshwane race number, a copy of My Tshwane Challenge magazine and your t-shirt (you will be able to select your size while stocks last).
  • To register and win, scan the unique QR code or use the URL link on your SPAR Women’s Challenge Tshwane race number and complete your details. This QR code and URL link is linked to your unique race number.

ONLINE CONVENIENCE

  • Collect your SPAR Women’s Challenge Tshwane race number, a copy of My Tshwane Challenge magazine and your t-shirt (you can select your size online when you register, while stocks last), at SuperSport Park Stadium in Centurion from Monday 29 July – 2 August 2024 between 10h00 and 18h00 and on race day from 10h00 to 13h00.
  • Online entries are automatically registered and are eligible for prizes.
  • IF YOU ENTERED ONLINE, DO NOT COLLECT YOUR Challenge PACK FROM SPAR STORES!

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tshwane SPAR Women’s Challenge,
Date: 3 August 2024
Venue: Centurion SuperSport Park
Time: 14h00 (Be there early to ensure a parking spot)
GPS Co-ordinates: S25 51’29.2’’ E28 11’44.2’’

  • The challenge consists of a 5km and 10km walk or run route which begins and ends at SuperSport Park stadium in Centurion.
  • Entries are limited to 15 000 participants.
  • You can enter at a participating SPAR store or online. An admin fee will be applicable for online entries.
  • Pre-entries at SPAR stores will close on 27 July 2024 at 20h00
  • Online entries will close on 24 July 2024 at midnight.
  • Entries will still be open at SuperSport Park from Monday 29 July – 2 August 2024 between 10h00 and 18h00, and on 3 August 2024 from 10h00 until 13h00, IF ENTRIES HAVE NOT SOLD OUT.
  • NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR A LOST RACE NUMBER.
  • All entrants must register for either the 10km or 5km Challenge. To register and win, scan, the unique QR code or use the URL link on your SPAR Women’s Challenge Tshwane race number and complete your details. This QR code is linked to your unique race number.
  • When you enter you will receive your SPAR race number, a t-shirt and a copy of the My Tshwane Challenge Magazine.
  • Goodie bags and medals are handed out on Challenge Day once you have crossed the finish line.
  • DO NOT COLLECT FROM SPAR STORES IF YOU HAVE ENTERED ONLINE.
  • If you have entered ONLINE please bring your proof of payment, or the SMS you received indicating your race number, to collect your SPAR race number, t-shirt and My Tshwane Challenge Magazine at SuperSport Park in Centurion from Monday 29 July – 2 August 2024 between 10h00 and 18h00, or race day 3 August 2024 between 10h00 and 13h00.
  • Men are allowed to participate in the challenge but will not be eligible for any prizes. They will however receive a goodie bag and medal.
  • No GAS ‘braai’s, GLASS, ALCOHOL, COOL DRINK CANS or TINS will be allowed inside SuperSport Park (PLASTIC ONLY).
  • No selling of any goods will be permitted on Challenge Day.
  • There will be food and beverages for sale on Challenge Day.
  • There will be refreshment points at 3km intervals along the challenge route.
  • Medical support and tog bag facilities will be available.
  • Provision will be made for disabled participants.
  • Time of Prize Giving will be announced.
  • End of day will be approximately at 18h00 on Saturday, 3 August 2024.
  • Results of the 10km challenge will be published on www.results.finishtime.co.za

GENERAL RULES

BY PROCEEDING WITH REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE CAREFULLY READ AND FULLY UNDERSTOOD AND AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THE EVENT.

  • The race is run in accordance with the rules of ASA and AGN.
  • The entrants will participate under the rules of ASA and AGN and it is the entrants responsibility to familiarise themselves with the rules.
  • Athletes participate at their own risk and indemnify the organisers, sponsors and national and provincial bodies against any claims that may arise.
  • Race organisers, sponsors and venue managers will not be responsible for any theft or damage of personal items, nor injury or death sustained during the race.
  • Licensed athletes must wear their ASA 2024 licence numbers on the front and the back of their vests when participating in the 10km.
  • Unlicensed athletes in the 10km must purchase a temporary licence and wear it on the back of the vest.
  • Race numbers must be worn on the front. The race number must not cover the logo on the ASA licence number.
  • Athletes competing for age category prizes must display the official numerical age category tags on the front and the back of their vest.
  • A temporary licence is not required for the 5km challenge. The Race number must be worn on the front of the vest in the 5km challenge.
  • Minimum age for participants in the 10km race is 14 years.
  • Category winners must provide proof of age to qualify for prizes.
  • Marshals and Traffic Officials must be obeyed at all times. Failure to comply with their instructions may lead to immediate disqualification.
  • No seconding is allowed during the race.
  • No IPods or listening devices are allowed in the race.
  • No Blade, Bicycle or mechanically operated device will be allowed in the race.
  • Entry fees will not be refunded, returned, cancelled or exchanged on account of the weather or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organisers.
  • Cut-off times 5km and 10km 2 hours.
  • No animals are allowed at the stadium or to take part in the race.
  • There will be a refreshment point at 3km intervals along the route.
  • Medical support and tog bag facilities will be available.
  • International athletes must abide by the IAAF rule 4.2. which states that they must provide a clearance letter from the Athletics Federation of their country of origin to be eligible for a prize.
  • Men are allowed to participate in the challenge but will not be eligible for any prizes. They will however receive a goodie bag.
  • Men finishing the 10km event during the period when the ladies category winners are being identified will be diverted into a separate finishing area.
  • No GAS ‘braai’s’ , GLASS, ALCOHOL, COOL DRINK CANS or TINS will be allowed inside SuperSport Park (PLASTIC ONLY).
  • No selling of any goods will be permitted on Challenge Day.

RUNNING CLUB AND CORPORATE BOOKINGS

All running clubs and companies are welcome to join us on Challenge Day. Book a stand or enter 50 people and receive your stand FREE of charge.  There will be spot prizes for the companies with the most spirit as well as some lucky draws.

SUPERVISED KID’S CORNER

Free and safe supervision for children aged 3 to 12 Years. For 3 – 6 year old’s, a stimulating and interesting programme is on offer. Great fun to be had with jumping castles, face painting and various characters. For 7 – 12 year old’s, there will be an open play area. Qualified pre-primary school teachers will also keep an extra eye on the children.

The supervised kid’s corner is proudly sponsored by ATKV-Klein-Kariba.

TOG BAG AREA

Facilities will be available for those who need to safely stow their tog bags and personal belongings. Look out for the well marked Tog Bag area on the field next to stage on Challenge Day. Our friendly staff will be there to assist you.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

A medical tent will be set up on the field on Challenge Day, with two qualified doctors and their staff. Emergency medical teams will be posted at the finish line as well as at the water points along the route. Ambulances will also be available at the stadium, on the 5km route and on the 10km route. Should you be injured during the race, please report to the medical tent if possible or alert the nearest security or medical personnel. Physiotherapists will also be on duty in the medical tent providing sport massages to runners free of charge.
