Overview

Bloem Battle Grounds is a Hybrid fitness series which consists out of a combination of Functional Strength & Cardiovascular Endurance.
The Structure consists out of 10 Strength Disciplines with roughly 500m running in between each discipline.
The Disciplines does not have any complicated movement standards and does not require any previous technical training to perform.
Practical Explanation
By “Functional Strength” we are stating Exercises/Disciplines which predominantly requires strength to perform. This could be but are not limited to anything between flipping a tyre to carrying a heavy sand bag.
“Cardiovascular Endurance” would be anything that predominantly requires fitness to perform. In the case of Bloem Battle Grounds Events Specifically it means; running.
The strength disciplines can consist out of but are not limited to:
Tyre Flips
Farmers Carry
Sand Bag Carry
Net Crawl
Bear Crawl
Lunges
Tyre Pull
Burpees
Concrete Disc Pulls
Atlas Carry
etc.
The running could be flat or more trail running depending on the event facility.

Categories

TEAM

A Team consists out of two participants (male/male | female/female | male/female). The disciplines and running should collectively be completed between the two team members.
There are no restrictions in terms of which of the team members completes which stations or running laps, as long as all disciplines and running are performed and completed.
Team participants are however not allowed to assist each other at any stage otherwise they will be deemed disqualified. In a case of disqualification, the team will still be allowed to complete the remainder of the event.

Prize Money & Awards

Competitors eligible to receive prize money or awards must;
– Fill out and provide us with all required information in order to receive prize money and awards
– Compete in the following categories: Open/Elite , Mens -, Ladies- or Mixed Team category – Fully complete a race (without disqualification)
– For the individual races there will only be Podium Medals
Series Winners will be eligible for price money

Sequence

The strength disciplines can be performed in any sequence. There are no required sequence to perform the disciplines.
In-between each discipline participants are required to run the set out running route (roughly 500m) before moving on to the next discipline.
The athlete will be considered “finished” as soon as all the disciplines along with the running is completed.
Timing
Athletes will be set off in waves with a 10-15min delay between each wave. You will be able to choose your wave number on the day.
Athletes will be timed individually according to their allocated BIB number (which should be visible at all times).
BIB numbers will either be stamped on

Point System:
There will be podiums each race, but the overall series results will reveal the true Champs.
The point allocation this season will work on a very simple sliding scale structured to give athletes a good advantage if they do participate in all three series races, however if athletes are not able to attend all three races they still have a chance to rank high overall if they perform really well in the races they do attend.

Penalties

If a participant is not able to fully complete any of the disciplines or running with the required movement standards without any assistance, the participant will be considered Disqualified. The participant will however still be allowed to participate.

Event Conduct

Bloem Battle Grounds events are based on a first come first serve basis. If at any point an athlete wants to perform a station which is fully occupied, the athlete either have to choose another discipline to perform or wait until the station is not fully occupied
If in an unlikely situation where an athlete approaches his/her final station/discipline and it is fully occupied, the athlete only has a choice to wait until the station is available again before completing the station
