ILoveBoobies Run & Duathlon #2

This is the second event in the ILoveBoobies Run & Duathlon Series 

The primary mission at ILoveBoobies is to provide free breast examinations to South African women who are unable to access such medical services due to financial, locational or social challenges. The spirit of charity is philanthropy. Philanthropy means the love of humanity.

For every 5 entries – one women from an underserved community will receive a free breast cancer screening.

Venue

Our hosts are the amazing Elgin Grabouw Country Club supported by Trail’s End Bike Hotel and Peregrine Farmstall.

The Elgin Grabouw Country Club boasts breathtaking and spectacular views of the surrounding Hottentots Holland, Nuweberg and Groenland mountains. Combined with the waterfront ambiance of the Eikenhof dam and the flourishing fynbos blanketing the mountain slopes, this venue will leave you with an overwhelming sense of tranquility and enchantment.

The drive from Cape Town or Worcester takes approximately 60 minutes whilst the trip from Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and Hermanus will take approximately 35 minutes.

Women’s Only?

This event is for everyone, BUT we will break the batches up into women only and men only batches. Breast cancer doesn’t just affect women and cancer impacts the entire family.

Guardian Angel Batch

The very last batch will be a Guardian Angel batch and is completely voluntary. This batch is expected to bring extra spares, snacks and joy ready to lend a hand when they bump into someone in need. Please select the “Guardian Angel Batch” option under merchandise and you will be awarded special “wings” at registration.

Routes:

12km Run: 12km Trail Run

Super Sprint Duathlon: 2.5km Trail Run / 10km MTB / 1km Trail Run

Sprint Duathlon: 5km Trail Run / 24km MTB / 2.5km Trail Run

Sprint Triathlon: 600m Swim / 24km MTB / 2.5km Trail Run

Duathlon teams may consist of a maximum of 2 people. Triathlon teams may consist of 2 or 3 people.

Minimum age for this event is 13 years of age.

Early Bird Entries:

Early Bird entries close on Sunday 8 September at 6 am. Don’t delay and miss out.

Registration Venue & Date:

Sunday 6 October from 7:00am at the Dragonfly Tri gazebo at Elgin Grabouw Country Club.

Race Start Times: 

8:00 – Sprint Triathlon

8:15 – Sprint Duathlon

8:30 – 12km Trail Run

8:45 – Super Sprint Duathlon

Race briefing will be 10 minutes before each start time.

Event Socks:

Each entry includes a pair of exclusive custom made I Love Boobies socks.

Timing:

The event will be timed using timing tags. It is the responsibility of each athlete to tag properly.

Refund Policy:

Full refund up to 14 days prior to race

50% refund from 14 to 7 days prior to race

0% in last 7 days prior to race
