The Beers & Bagels Fun Run

About the event:

Started in 2021 The Beers & Bagels Fun Run is 5km run from the popular Jacks Bagels Summerstrand to the relaxed, scenic Ziggy’s Rock and Reggae bar at Pine Lodge. This 5km fun run is aimed at everyone, whether you sprint, run or walk all that matters is that you have a good time! And it is a pretty good excuse to eat a bagel and drink a beer.

Start Time: 10h00

Venue: Jacks Bagels Summerstrand

Entry Fee: R200 for Adults and R100 for Kids (under 18yrs in the 5km distance only)

Distance: Choice of a 5km or 9km race is available

Adult entrants will receive one free bagel voucher (valid for race day only) at the start of the race and a cold refreshing Jack Black beer upon crossing the finish line. All participants who enter before Monday 24th of June will be given a complimentary, Beers & Bagels T shirt. The first 50 entries will also be given a free limited edition Beers & Bagels lunch bag. Times will be recorded and posted on the Zsports website for those athletic runners aiming to break their personal bests.

Jacks Bagels will be offering Cuppuccino and Americano specials to all participants before the start of the race.

Children under the age of 18 will be given a free bagel before the start of the run and non-alcoholic refreshment post race (Discounted entry into kids race DOES NOT include T shirt). 

Entries will close on race week Friday at mid-day.

KELSTON HYUNDAI PARK AND RIDE

Thanks to our sponsors at Kelson Motor Group – Hyundai will be proving a shuttle service for the drivers only (ie to keep numbers down, we ask that all participants are first dropped at Jack’s Bagels Summerstrand and only the driver takes the car to Pine Lodge). 

RACE PACK COLLECTION

Race pack collection will be at Jack’s Bagels Summerstrand on Friday the 28th of June between 11am and 2pm only. Any race packs not collected on Friday will be available on Saturday before the race. Participates will receive more information regarding race pack collection via email.

Prizes:

There will be a number of lucky draws available to those lucky runners who are chosen. Prize giving will take place after the last runner has finished

Participants are urged to stick around post event and enjoy the awesome atmosphere which Ziggy’s creates.

ENTRY FEE REFUNDS / ENTRY TRANSFER POLICY

Unfortunately due to the administrative and logistical costs of our Zsports Events, we have a NO REFUND or carry forward policy for all our events. However, we have introduced the ability to transfer your entry before race weekend. It is the withdrawing athlete’s responsibility to find a suitable replacement for their entry and such replacement is required to register online (before close of entries) in the applicable race category in order to be eligible for entry.

If you are unable to attend, please notify us in writing so that you can send you a discount coupon code for your replacement to use when they register online.

Please appreciate, that Zsports will not entertain or respond to any emails requesting a refund or carry forward of an entry.
